As one of only four finalists at Startup Victoria Pitch Night, it was an amazing experience to pitch to a building full of education tech pioneers, venture capitalists and thought leaders. We're grateful for the validation the Cogniss platform is getting!
Soaking in the excitement (and making a presentation or two) with hundreds of other innovators at one of Australia's largest education events, Educhange. We loved sharing our passion for harnessing the power of games in education.
"The application of neuroscience and neuropsychology to learning is having, and will continue to have, a huge impact. We've learned so much about how the brain processes, stores and recalls information, how understanding develops, and what really underpins individual motivation. Yet virtually none of this is being applied in the vast majority of edtech solutions. Edtech is still often relegated to cheaper and more cost effective ways of disseminating information and assessing knowledge, rather than being used to truly enhance the learning experience. We need to move beyond powering old ways of learning with technology, and instead completely rethink the process of teaching and learning."
Just found out we've been nominated as best national digital solution for Australia for the international World Summit Awards! A huge honor.
The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative within the framework of the United Nations
World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). It's the only ICT worldwide event
that reaches the mobile community in over 180 countries. WSA highlights digital content
improving society and focusses on local content with global relevance.
We're now qualified to go through the next round of evaluation by the WSA Online Jury 2017, along with 391 international nominations.
Following on from our win at the NSW iAwards in the Community Services Markets category, our CEO and Founder Leon Young and Product Manager Anna Goldfeder took part in the National iAwards Pitch Fest, held in Melbourne. And won!
Some high words of praise from the judging panel - we especially loved being called 'a platform with a brain'.
Congratulations to the makers of Tortgua Racing and the Basketball Game, who have been shortlisted as frontrunners for the inaugural Cogniss Unity Game Dev Challenge!

- A cash prize of AUD4,000

- The opportunity to work with our team on a commercial game with real audiences
Congratulations to the whole team for a good showing at the 2017 TECH Design Awards! We picked up a Gold Award in the EdTech category.
DRIVENxDESIGN and Tech Design Awards Founder Mark Bergin said, “Tech, innovation and digital are huge economic contributors and this is only going to increase. Incorporating design means that tech achieves what users need and is relevant to the marketplace. Getting the design and experience right is what will fuel tech’s growth.”
“In this year’s awards we’ve rewarded an outstanding collection of well designed tech projects. Those keen to see the best in the market would be advised to spend an hour reviewing these great projects – the level of tech, design and market centered solutions is again breathtaking”.
We were over the moon to find out Cogniss is being recognized as best innovation in Community Services Markets at the 2017 NSW iAwards! The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA)'s iAwards is Australia’s leading awards program for innovation in the digital economy.
Anna, our Product Manager, attended the Gala Dinner to accept the honor on behalf of our team. It was awe-inspiring to see all the innovative solutions from across the state.
Next stop: National iAwards...
We entered the Tech Design Awards, and were honored to be featured on The Awards Wrap, a podcast where DRIVENxDESIGN founder Mark Bergin and Design Giant Kirsten Mann discuss projects that have caught their eye. Check it out!
