Cogniss launches Ripple, a global initiative of digital health challenges

Cogniss is excited to launch Ripple, a global initiative that will run challenges bringing together innovators, health systems and partners around urgent health priorities. Ripple builds on the proven success of the Priority Digital Health Challenges run in 2024 and 2025, and the Health Innovation East Digital Hub, which has already run two successful cohorts and is now selecting its third. These programmes have demonstrated strong demand for structured support, generated significant media attention, and led to apps being launched in the app stores.

However, getting digital solutions into the hands of patients remains a challenge. Cogniss has reduced barriers around cost, development time and compliance, but the problem persists. Why? It is impossible for health systems to procure and integrate thousands of one-off, patient-centric apps addressing a range of problems. And innovators can typically build only one app at a time.

Ripple is designed to change this. Each challenge brings together innovators to create a portfolio of apps in one specific health area, health systems to shape priorities, and funders to support this effort. Participants gain access to Cogniss’ no-code platform, a structured pathway to build out their solutions, and guidance from delivery partners on evaluation and adoption. Because health systems help select the cohorts and all solutions sit on Cogniss’ common infrastructure, procurement at scale becomes far easier.

Cogniss CEO Leon Young said, “From the start, the Cogniss team has worked to remove the technical barriers that stop great solutions from coming to life and reaching patients. We’ve already enabled innovators to build faster, at lower cost, while greatly simplifying compliance. But breaking down the systemic barriers to adoption requires collective effort. We are proud to stand alongside partners like AWS and the Health Innovation Network, who share our vision for impact at scale and we welcome more partners to join us.”

Ripple will run multiple themed challenges worldwide in priority areas such as indigenous health, early childhood care and migrant health. The goal with each is to produce a portfolio of solutions ready for adoption and a clear pathway for them to reach the people and communities that need them most.
