An intervention app to help users understand and address their gambling behaviors

The team at Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation was looking to create a standalone digital solution that can also be used to support in-person counseling. The challenge was to incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques into the solution. Both methods are clinically proven to help people quit or reduce gambling.

Together with researchers from Deakin University, they created an interactive app that provides insights into gambling behavior and delivers personalized strategies and activities.

This app is being funded by the Victorian Government.

Key features of the app

  • Personalized goal setting and goal tracking

  • Daily check-ins to track gambling habits

  • Multiple ways to assess a user's gambling habits

  • Customized feedback and activities based on user's gambling habits

  • Scheduled assessments to review progress
