How will no code impact the future of healthtech?

Cogniss’s Managing Director, Dr. Lloyd Humphreys, recently spoke about no code in digital health on Venturi’s Voice, with hosts Ben Malloy and Jack Rainbow. Venturi’s Voice is a podcast by global technology recruitment agency Venturi Ltd.

One of the key points Lloyd touches on is the cost and time it takes to develop a digital health app. He says this has largely remained unchanged from the time when he co-developed a digital therapeutic app for addiction in 2008, just sometime after the first iPhone came out. The Cogniss platform, he believes, is disrupting that.

While there are lots of general no code platforms with drag-and-drop features in the market today, he shares that there are none that specifically apply to digital health. The Cogniss platform is groundbreaking in that sense as it comes with pre-built features catered to digital health, he adds. So you could easily set up a symptom checker, gamify user experience with rewards, and drive event-based engagement. Cogniss, he believes, acts as an enabler for people on the frontline to innovate and bring solutions to the market more quickly.

What’s lacking in a majority of the apps in the app stores today, Lloyd says, is quality. He adds that when clinicians and healthcare experts are the ones creating apps, we will see an increase in high-quality apps.

While we are still in the early days of healthtech, Lloyd points out that there is huge investment and growth in this space already. In fact, he foresees a reset of what is considered to be the “right digital product with the right value”.
